Make a difference, Go the distance

7 10 2007

Ran my first 10KM run this morning and boy, do I feel goood!!

This charity run in support of the AIDS Foundation was held at the Taman Perhutanan Bukit Cahaya, Shah Alam and it was one hell of a terrain. There were so many uphills!!!!!!! It was really painful having to endure those uphill moments. Your body will want to run up, yet you realize that your momentum is more like walking. It seriously makes not much of a difference whether you run or walk.

Prior to the run, I tried running on trademills for like 5km and out of the 3 times I tried, I failed all 3 times in reaching the 5km mark. Amazingly though, today it was a breeze! Well, not exactly, considering those uphill pains, but it did help that I had a supportive companion to push me along.

Am pretty glad with my result as I clocked in at 1 hour 10 mins. Not a great time but well, it’s my first and I just wanted to see how fit I am compared to the last time I ran the 5KM e-run in Uni. And YES, I can say I’m as fit as a bull now as compared to last time πŸ˜€

I think these runs could be addictive and I know that this will not be my last 10KM run. I shall attempt to win a medal in 10KM runs before progressing to 15KM runs πŸ˜€ . Hopefully I’ll win a medal for a 10KM run soon, then I can strike it off from my list of things to do before 30 hehe.

As for now,  I can only pray that my legs will not fail me tomorrow 😐
Will be off to Singapore in a couple of days. Finally, I’m being sent to somewhere out of Malaysia for training! Realized that it’s already October and this blog is still stucked in September. Time is so precious these days.

Till my next free moment,
Take care and toodles!

p/s: They may be wrong, but apparently along the way, us runners did pass by the place where Altantuya got exploded. I feel goosebumps on my skin just thinking about it. Creepy.

When your world falls apart…

will you cry?

will you be angry?

will you fear?

or will you just be stoned-cold?

It scares me that I’m not scared.

when doubt turns to worry.

when worry turns to fear.

when fear turns to tears.

when tears turn to apathy.

Noticed it’s been 2 weeks since my last entry.

Have been really busy these days. Mostly due to gyms and dinnersss (I’m sooo broke!!) on weekdays and the 30 hour famine camp on weekends. Btw, the Famine Camp was AWESOME!! It definitely deserves an entry on its own so I’ll write more on it when I get all the photos from those camera-people.

Also, the other thing that kept me busy was my venture into something small that over time will (hopefully) grow into something huge πŸ™‚ .Β  Ladies, please check out Bags Fetish. Men, please refer your lady friends to Bags Fetish. Hehe thanks! πŸ˜€

That’s all for now.

Happy 50th Merdeka Malaysia!

Counted down at MIFC, Putrajaya. Was there 3 hours earlier, took 2.5 hours to reach home, almost slammed into a car and a lorry, not to mention almost hitting many dividers coz I was super sleepy from only 4 hours sleep the night before, but ah, it was all worth it.

One word is enough to sum up the 20 minutes fireworks performance from Japan:

It was definitely nothing like I’ve ever seen before. Those people with their cameras on their tripods made me feel kinda wasted that I did not have a good camera with me. Had to make do with my sad camera phone 😐 But it was better than nothing-lah! These are the best I could snap.

I love how the sparks lingers and kinda slowly falls to the ground…
It’s like many meteor rains pouring down!

They were shooting heart shapes, planets, stars and many different designs!

The grand finale!

Was walking around searching for lavatories when we met a few cows from other countries. There were about 22 cows from 22 different countries. They must have had some Cow Convention or something. The photo most right above shows a cow bearing the advice: Milk is good for you. (Yes, I know, but I still dislike milk πŸ™‚ )

We took like a 20-30 minutes stroll from PICC to the government buildings not-so-nearby to hunt for a loo despite there being portable mobile toilets located around the area. So why the 20 minutes stroll? This is why.

It was the longest queue to pee I’ve ever seen! The queue went right up to the road.
One of the pee-ers commented: “Memori indah ni. Beratur untuk kencing”. Obviously it came from a guy coz as we know, guys rarely need to queue to pee, unlike us ladies πŸ˜‰

Oh and I must mention that the architectural design of the government buildings are something we should be proud of. Again, sad sad coz no cam. Did not realize we had such cool structures and layouts here in Malaysia. Call me ‘the frog under the husk’ but I bet 50% or more of the thousand of people there would not have visited Putrajaya for ‘no special reason’.

Happy 50th Merdeka!

Say YES to harmony, unity and trust.

God bless Malaysia!

Just a 2.5 minute clip out of the 7 miutes that I took on the fireworks. Not as impactful as it was watching it live. But again, better than nothing-lah! πŸ˜› (Watch it all or Fast forward to the last 1 minute for the best part of the clip πŸ˜‰ )
